DescriptionCoconut shell dipper, sperm whale ivory oval mounting flange and foreshaft, curved wood handle, four yellow-metal fastenings; pommel full-round carved out of whale ivory in the form of a dog's head, with the eyes inset (wood) and the mouth drilled through to accommodat a ring or loop (absent) for a hook or lanyard.
