DescriptionCoconut shell bowl with pointed bottom, ornately relief-carved over the entire outer surface with a network of birds, branches, and leaves. Circular whale ivory mounting flange, three non-ferrous fasteners; S-curved wooden handle, tapers to an octagon at the grip, decorated with two bands of whale ivory one of baleen, and one of wood; octagonal whale ivory pommel, with a loop to hold a baleen ring to accommodate a hook or lanyard.
