DescriptionCoconut shell bowl; trifid whale ivory mounting flange with three non-ferrous pin fasteners; hollow walrus ivory handle mortised onto the shaft of the mounting flange through a wooden sleeve; at the other end a silver ferrule, through which the whale ivory and wood pommel is threaded to the shaft; pommel has a pierced ring to acommodate a hook or lanyard. Pommel is loose and wobbly; ivory shaft has cracks from age and stress.
