DescriptionStandard cast steel whaling lance mountd on a wooden shaft with iron strap (rope) attached. Socket served with marline. Cordage tied around wood handle in three places. Loop of rope attached to butt-end of handle. Some black protective paint still extant.ProvenanceProbably had sheath with rope attached (T-0185-3-B-2); not found as of 17 July 2003
