DescriptionSloop "Gesture" finishes NYYC race, from Annapolis to Newport. Her spinnaker drawing beautifully in the light southwesterly, the blue-hulled 57-foot Sparkman & Stephens sloop passes the finish line off Newport's Castle Hill Light. The lighthouse flies the New York Yacht Club burgee and the Race Committee flag for the occasion. "Gesture", on the other hand, follows the racing convention and flies a windsock at her masthead instead of the private signal or yacht club burgee she would otherwise fly underway.On View
