DescriptionA two-tiered mahogany work box. The upper tier is surmounted by a pincushion on a turned wooden chalice platform, and has a lift-off top, enclosing 8 ferrous rods to support 8 spools; the front and sides are pierced with 8 holes, each with a whale ivory grommet, as fair leads to serve 8 threads. The lower tier has a drawer with wooden knob pull, surmounted by a pull-out, fold-up mirror with a tiny whale ivory pull.
