DescriptionHas deadbeat escapement, maintaining power and mercury pendulum which is suspended from back of case. In a massive gothic style case with mahogany veneer. Bonnet is gothic arch with 3 pinnacles and circular glass door. Glass door of waist has gilt decoration. Base has solid panel and ogee bracket feet.

only known clock of this type made in NB.Known as a precision instrument.
ProvenanceBelieved to have belonged to Geo M. Alden, 17 Arnold Place, New Bedford who was the last Civil War Veteran (d 1943). Prior to Allen's ownership, it was probably used in the Fales family.'
