DescriptionToggle iron with short shank wrapped in cloth. Wooden pole fits into shaft, which has an open seam socket. Heavy line holds them together. Originally included painted canvas sheath with 2 broken slivers of wooden inner sheath (now missing). Badly corroded. Some remnants of orange paint left on harpoon head.ProvenancePart of collection of Capt Pedersen's whalecraft dating from the last voyage of the PATTERSON. Sheath missing when conducting inventory, 12/2003. Had been in very poor condition.
