DescriptionA small chimneyed whale oil lantern of tin and horn or mica with a single screw-type oil burner in place atop an inverted cone shaped font which rests on a saucer base. A flat ring handle is attached to the saucer for carrying. A cylindrical tube-shaped chimney, hinged and attached to the ring handle, is slightly domed with horn (mica?) window. An air hole is at the top of the chimney dome, which can be lifted in order to fill lamp.
