DescriptionMedium size walrus tusk, trimmed, with squared edges; monochrome engraved on one side only: cribbage board flanked by stylized floral device, and with six rearing reindeer heads with antlers; an in a kayak; a seal emerging from a hole in the pack ice; the bias-cut end reveals a large core of secondary dentine. Peg foot absent. Compare central vignette of 1935.68.25. The feathery, leafy, sometimes winglike ornaments are analogously present in four walrus ivory cribbage boards in the collection, all from the same donor: 1935.68.24, .25, .28, and .31. See N.
