DescriptionTwo ambrotype photographs in gutta percha cases with brass mats of Mr. and Mrs. Russell, parents of Captain Russell. Case is hinged in the middle and shows Mr. Russell in three-quarter portrait with satin appearing waist-coat and wide lapelled jacket; Mrs. Russell is in three-quarter pose with hands folded across her lap, in satin dress with buttons down the front and white collar and puffy sleeves. Both feature hand-colored gold details and pink cheeks.
