DescriptionPhotograph on a postcard of men working on a whale at Akutan Whaling Station. Two men to the far right cut into the flesh of the whale while three men to the left pose for the camera. The chains which surrounded the whale lay out against the gravel. Verso: "Opinu Whale"The Akutan Whaling Station was built in the Aleutians East Borough of Alaska by the Pacific Whaling Company in 1912, operating until 1939.
