DescriptionPortrait of Professor Nakahama, son of Prince Nakahama. Based on a comparison in a Japanese book this is likely Toichiro, Manjiro Nakahama's first son. He was a medical doctor. Thus, the use of "Professor" in Japanese. Because Manjiro had become a samurai the use of the Japanese equivalent of "Prince" would be appropriate.On View
