DescriptionAlthough she was eliminated in the 1958 America's Cup trials, the Ray Hunt-designed 12-meter sloop Easterner could, in the words of Carleton Mitchell, "go magnificently." In this stirring photograph taken during the 1966 New York Yacht Club cruise, Easterner is going magnificently-and then some. Lee rail is in the water.
