DescriptionAn unmarked steel bench hook with a brass-lined eye and a cotton cordage lanyard.ProvenanceIsaac F. Manchester was born in 1914 in Tiverton, RI. In the mid 1930s he came to work at his uncle's (Thomas S. Manchester) sailloft on Second Street in New Bedford which had started in 1908. After the war, Thomas Manchester moved the business to Elm Street in Dartmouth, Mass. Isaac took over the Manchester Yacht Sails in the 1940s and worked there until he retired in early 1970s when the business was run by his son, Isaac.On View
