DescriptionAn unmarked square sample of sail cloth with stitched grommets, clews, etc.ProvenanceIsaac F. Manchester was born in 1914 in Tiverton, RI. In the mid 1930s he came to work at his uncle's (Thomas S. Manchester) sailloft on Second Street in New Bedford which had started in 1908. After the war, Thomas Manchester moved the business to Elm Street in Dartmouth, Mass. Isaac took over the Manchesgter Yacht Sails in the 1940s and worked there until he retired in early 1970s when the business was run by his son, Isaac.
