DescriptionHandle of whale ivory carved in full round in the shape of a squiggly serpent (snake), in two parts, joined with two bands of baleen and one of non-ferrous silver metal; the tail end terminating in a small, two-prong (two-tine) fork, the other end is the snake's head, forming a saddle that supports a wheel with four pierced-work spokes and a fluted rim, with non-ferrous metal axle.
