DescriptionA two-piece whale ivory needle case (body and slide-on cap) shaped like an elongated shield; circular inlays of silver metal and a copper-colored material on the front and back; two rectangular tortoise shell inlays on the front (one on the body, one on the cap). Verdegris residue; damage fromn scratching; some inlays missing; slip-on gold-colored metal band around skirt of lid missing (see companion piece).
