DescriptionA tin whale oil lantern with aglass bullseye. The lantern is cylindrical with moveable twin handles mounted on a flat deck at the rear of the lantern opposite bullseye. Crimped finial is atop the dome. The burner was missing when found. Also called a watchman's, policeman's or railroad lantern.ProvenancePictured in Hayward's book "Colonial Lighting".On View
