DescriptionMedicine chest - outside surface drawer with brass handle. Two hinged cabinet doors with brass escutcheons; opens to section with five drawers with ivory knobs. Above shelf area with five bottles. Back of drawers have shelfs for bottles. Interior lined with blue velvet. Top of chest has brass handle (flush). Back surface has sliding panel with space for five bottles. Contains medicines and instruments, including a stethoscope and small balance.ProvenanceHerman Gnadendorf listed as Physician at 14 Second St, Troy NY. & Apotherary till 1895 when he died. Franz Dahl is listed from 1896 to 1950 at that address.
