DescriptionRound baleen box lacking lid; wooden bottom; baleen sides partially double layered in conjunction with the lap joint, with paper sandwiched between, with the paper visible through pierced work geometric decorations of interlacing circles; the paper overlaid in six places with sealing wax (significant losses of sealing wax); six rat-tails; copper fastenings.Condition: Paper browned, foxed, and stained, but mostly intact; significant losses of sealing wax.
