DescriptionPine board base holding twelve shore bird decoys (heavy cardboard or very light weight wood) set on poles: Three "Sandpipers" (yellow leg shadows) in the back row set on 4" poles with markings of brown, gray, and black. Two rows with a total of 9 "Plovers" (black-bellied plover shadows) set on 2" poles, these birds have been painted in oil paints with markings of black, gray, and brown and black rings about the neck and black "V" markings on the head - reportedly painted by Leander Plummer.ProvenanceStored in box together with other set of decoys, 1995.34.4
