DescriptionThis is a folding pleated fan. The fan leaf is printed cotton with a pattern of pink and off-white roses with green leaves on a black or dark green background. The sticks and guard sticks are varnished wood (with their natural brown color). The backing fabric is red glazed cotton. This fan has a rounded brass hanging loop with an off-white (probably original) silk ribbon.ProvenanceNew Bedford women
