DescriptionThe painting of the Ship WILLIAM BADGER, built at Portsmouth, N.H., for the merchant service, illustrates her at sea from the starboard side showing her painted gun ports. She is flying her name pennant from the mainmast as well as a "WB" house flag from the foremast and an American flag at the stern.ProvenancePainting purchased from O.D. Garland in November of 1962 for $1,650 and gifted by Henry Kendall to the museum on 12/31/1962.
