Williams, sailed September 7, 1858; killed by whale August 9, 1859; ship sold at San Francisco in 1861, oil and bone shipped home.A. J. Mandly sale, 1960 (Antone J. Mandly was the last owner of the schooner "John R. Manta" and commanded her last completed voyage, 1925; no other mention of an A. J. Mandly sale has been located; eBay claims exhibited "Hunt for the Whale," Museum of American Folk Art, New York, 1967.
