DescriptionThe octant is complete with a fine divided ivory scale and one arc-minute readout ivory vernier, clamp and tangent screw, interchangeable set of three filters, index mirror, horizon mirror with thumbscrew adjustment, backsight mirror with wing nut adjustment, double peep sight, back peep, three legs, and original stepped keystone shaped case with Kehew's original New Bedford trade label in the case.Double reflecting, -1 degree 40' to 99 degree 40', vernier, three filters for either the index mirror or the horizon sight. Peep sight with two sight holes. Back sight with single peep. Ebony frame with reinforced flat brass index arm. The frame brace contains a pencil with an ivory cap for recording sights on the inlaid ivory insert on the back of the frame leg.
