DescriptionMiniature or doll's chest of drawers (scrimshaw). Wood, in the late Empire style, with walrus ivory inlay and trim: six drawers with turned ivory knobs, diamond inlays, and trimmed with ivory stripping; four larger drawers in the lower section (whereof the upper drawer overhangs the lower three), and two smaller drawers in the upper section; the top portion of the chest supported by scroll-carved ivory pilasters (columns); surmounted by a wooden backsplash (backboard) coping-saw carved with a scroll pattern; wooden scroll legs.Provenance?
