DescriptionInterview with Mrs. Stanley Curylo, a resident of New Bedford and age 79 at the time of the recording. She came from a Polish village at the age of 13. Her father left her here to return to Poland on business and for a year she provided her own support by working in a textile mill. Following her marriage, Mrs. Curylo and her husband invested in tenements and became people of a higher class system. Other participants in this recording are Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Bernard (his age 74) and Mrs. Cruylo's daughter, Mrs. Tadeus Dabrowski. The Bernards were also from Poland and were textile workers. The recording concludes with a Polish language conversation. On View
