DescriptionPortrait of Francis Taber Akin, possible 36 years of age. Francis Taber Akin was born in New Bedford on January 12, 1837 to Ruby/Roby Taber Akin and Seth Kelley Akin. He married Mary Haynes Macomber (1836-1915) in 1865. They had three children: Thomas Bryant Akin, Mary Alice Akin, and Charles Gardner Akin. Akin ran a business providing paint and varnish supplies. Francis passed away on June 15, 1918 and is buried in Rural Cemetery.
