DescriptionSchooner "Dorothy G" of Marion and her small companion "Dottie G" at dock. Designed by Walter J. McInnis and built by the Quincy Adams yard in 1956, this able and distinctive replica of a Gloucester knockabout schooner began her brief, romantic life as CECELIA J. When her original owner remarried, she was renamed DOROTHY G and soon gained a little sister ship, the McInnis-designed Friendship sloop DOTTIE G. DOROTHY G was later briefly owned by Prince Rainier of Monoco and then became a hospital ship in the South Pacific. She was lost while under charter in the Sea of Japan.
