DescriptionClifford W. Ashley at A. J. Peters Shipsmith. __Ambrose J. Peters was a blacksmith who specialized in whaling tools. This shop was located at 11 Front St., at the head of Merrill's Wharf. It was originally James D. Driggs' shop. He ran the shop there until he died in 1918 when his brother Charles E. Peters took over and operated the shop until his death in 1925.On View
