DescriptionPersonal ornament, possibly part of a necklace, amulet or other decoration. Made from fruit bat or dog teeth, sennit fiber and pierced shell and volcanic stone. Probably from Melanesia, Papua New Guinea or the Solomon Islands as there are traditions of using dog and fruit bat teeth there for objects of personal ornament, especially in the Sepik River area of Papua New Guinea.
