DescriptionAn unmarked rectangular shield made of thin wood covered with fabric or thin leather heavily painted or tarred. The wood spine on the back has a broken handhold. There are decorative cross ribbing of rattan at 2" intervals. The front has a brass plate acknowledging: "Gift of Col. E.H.R. Green" and a paper tag that reads: "Shield from Japan."On View
