DescriptionA dagger with a wavy "pamor" pattern on the straight, double-edged blade, a carved wooden hilt (hulu), and a carved wooden sheath made of tamarind wood. This dagger is undoubtedly 1906.1.4, collected by Captain Charles S. Taber, circa 1837-1847. Kris were common in the Philippines, Bali, Java and Malaysia. Kris pamor patterns were believed to embue the daggers with mystical strength, some for good, some for evil, and they were used both as weapons and in ceremony. On View
