DescriptionA wooden swinging sign with gold letters trimed in black that reads: C.P./INN for an Inn in Taunton, MA. The center of the sign is painted with a tree, several small trees, and two arms from each side shaking hands. There is a 2 1/2" frame around the sign and is hanging off of a 2 1/2" wood post that is 39"long.ProvenanceThe signboard hung at the entrance of a tavern kept by Clothier Pierce from 1808-1822 at Faunce Corner, Dartmouth, MA.
