DescriptionThis wooden doll trunk appears to relate to Misses Grace and Edith Dana's once loaned assortment of doll accoutrement, now mostly all "00" numbers. It is decorated with geometrical star-shaped patterns with metal studs arranged in horizontal rows. Two buckles may be found on the front, one of which remains, which suggests leather straps to hold the trunk closed. A metal keyhole is in the center of the buckles with a remnant of a leather strap. Two leather handles are located on the sides. The top is bulged to increase inside space.The inside contains several compartments lined with decorated paper floral design, one of which has a green profile portrait of an upper-class woman. An inside shelf with a canvas bottom may be pulled out to reveal another compartment.
