DescriptionAn unmarked heavy brass-hinged bracket with large screw holes on the fixed portion and a folding side backed with oak. The hole is 5" in diameter and is perhaps support for a sailing mast in a whaleboat. The bracket shows traces of grey or light blue paint.Provenance"HWK" numbered objects are from Henry W. Kendall's personal collection, distinct from the larger Kendall Whaling Museum collection.
