The trunk is lined with brown paper that has a blue flower-like pattern. It has a hinged rounded lid. The underside of the lid has a small door with a wooden bar to hold it closed. The tag on this reads "Allen and Little, (two doors north of Nelson's Hotel) Purchase Street, New Bedford, Manufacturers and dealers in saddles Bridles, whips harnesses, trunks, and valises of every kind. A good assortment of articles constantly on hand, warrented inferior to none and at the lowest prices. All orders punctually attended to." "(B. Lindsey & Son, printers.)".
