DescriptionA blue, gold, and off-white flag with an eagle and stars in the center. A note with the flag reads: "This flag was presented to Columbian Engine Co., No. 5, Jan. 17, 1859, by the Lady friends of the Company. At the time the Company disbanded, Sept. 24, 1860, it was resolved that it should be placed in the hands of their Foreman, John B. Hyde. After keeping it for 35 years, he presented it to the Veteran Firemen's Association of New Bedford, Sept. 12, 1894, to be placed among their valuable relies. P.B.S."
