DescriptionAn ear bone (bulla) of a sperm whale.ProvenanceJohn P. Kendall received this ear bone from his mother, Evelyn Kendall. The Kendall museum saw it in the 1960s but it was not accessioned. Purported to have been of significant age when given to John P. Kendall in the mid-20th century by his family members. It was loand to the Kendall Whaling Museum for examination and identification at some point in the 1960s. It was returned to JPK, date unknown, and held in Marion, Massachusetts.
