DescriptionThe sword was made for the tourist trade; the twine on the handle was not on older swords. The sword guard has no inlay figures which were usual with family pieces. Where the blade joins the handle the machine grinding marks are still apparent. The style of the hangars is European and the metal attachments on the scabbard are stamped or pressed metal and are late 19th Century.
