DescriptionA pencil bearing the name of J. Thoreau and Son. This pencil was given to the late Daniel Ricketson, the New Bedford historian, by Henry D. Thoreau, the Concord author. He was a friend of Mr. Ricketson and visited him on various occasions at this home "Brooklawn", which is now a New Bedford park. Mr. Ricketson gave the pencil to the donor over fifty years ago.On View
