DescriptionSwift with the shaft and ribs of whale skeletal bone, three rows of non-ferrous rivet fastenings, with unusual heart-shaped pieces of whale ivory fastened to the middle row of joints; ties absent; turned whale ivory spools, sprokets, and collars, with red highlights; whale ivory spire finial; bottom of shaft evidently intended to fit into a cylindrical socket in the base (base absent).
