DescriptionRounded both ends, ornamentally incised both sides. Recto: Potted flowering plant; sunburst with face; two interlocking hearts with two arrows surmounting crossed fern-like boughs; interspersed with elaborate geometric dividers. Verso: geometric borders, two crossed ferns in center panel, inscribed"M"; verse in cursive hand spanning two panels: "Freely take this gift of mine / This gift and giver both are thine / Although I the gift it is but small / Two loving hearts are worth them all // When this you see remember me / And keep me in your mind / Let all the world say what they will / Speak of me as you find".ProvenanceMrs. C.J.
