DescriptionOne-piece pnbone shaft, the lower part tapered and plain, the middle part and foreshaft relief-carved with octagonal bands flanking a large and small diamond motif; surmounted by ten bands of whale ivory and several varieties of wood in varying widths, with alternating whale ivory and tortoise shell diamond-shaped inlay.ProvenanceAttributed to Captain Albert C.
