Description stone lamp with carved polar bear sitting on edge of wedged-shaped lamp. Of igneous rock smoothed upper section and decorated around font which held floating wick.ProvenanceBurned walrus or whale oil. Most lamps were much larger than this and made of soapstone or other type of stone that was more easy to work.
