DescriptionWooden box, hinged lid, bone and wood inlay. On the top of the lid is a star, framed by a geomentric parquetry pattern of triangles around the edges; on front are two rhinos inlaid, incised, and pigmented, flanking a USA shield; the sides are inlaid with hearts with wooden center plugs that were apparently later additions to mask the holes for screw-on handles (holes still visible inisde).
