DescriptionTapered wooden shaft, lower half cylindrical, upper half octagonal, tapering with chamfers to a 16-sided polyglon at the very top; skeletal bone tip; turned whale ivory knob pommel, with a disc of wood inlay in the flat top. (The pommel is mortised onto a tenon atop the shaft, where the tenon is slotted and wedged to secure a tight fit.)
