DescriptionBurmese "Egyptian" vase with applied handles. Burmese is an unlined opaque ware of two-toned glass that blends from a vivid pink to yellow. It is created by partially reheating the glass, turning the yellow color to pink where heated. Unlike peachblow, which varies considerably in color depending on who manufactured it, Burmese glass has the same color across various makers. On December 15, 1885, Mount Washington was granted a patent for Burmese glass, although it is believed that this glass was already in production for several years before that date.On View
