DescriptionRoyal Flemish pitcher with painted enamelled decoration featuring flowers with raised, applied center. Royal flemish was advertised as early as 1889, but the patent was not acquired until 1894. The decoration was likely influenced by 14th-Century Islamic glass and colorful stained glass windows from the same period. The acidized finish is a ubiquitous attribute applied to each object that could be done either before or after decoration.
